Overview

Qing-Gan-Jian-Pi is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula. The name translates to "Clear the Liver and Strengthen the Spleen." While there are several similarly named formulas in TCM, such as Jian Pi Qing Gan Yin and Qing Gan Jian Pi Xin Tang, no direct evidence was found for a unique standardized product or pharmaceutical under exactly "qing-gan-jian-pi" in major English-language databases. However, based on TCM naming conventions and related formulas, it is likely designed to support liver function ("Qing Gan" - clear liver heat/toxicity) and strengthen digestive/spleen function ("Jian Pi"). Related formulas are used for conditions like non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), digestive weakness, or dampness accumulation. Mechanistically, similar formulas have been shown to modulate metabolic pathways including AMPK/PPARα activation and LXRα/SREBP1/NF-κB inhibition[2]. These actions may reduce hepatic steatosis, inflammation, and improve lipid metabolism.
