Overview

This is a combination therapy consisting of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula Qing-Re-Liang-Xue Decoction and the synthetic glucocorticoid triamcinolone acetonide acetate. Qing-Re-Liang-Xue Decoction is a traditional Chinese herbal formula that has been studied for its effects on alleviating hypercoagulability in Kawasaki disease and as a complementary therapy for psoriasis vulgaris of blood-heat syndrome. The decoction contains herbs with cold properties according to TCM theory, including Cornu Saigae Tataricae, gypsum fibrosum, Radix Rehmanniae, and Cortex Moutan Radicis, which are believed to remove heat, cool the blood, and reduce fever. Modern pharmacological studies indicate that this herbal formula may improve microcirculation, increase hemodynamics, reduce platelet aggregation, and prevent thrombus formation. It has been shown to reduce platelet count and decrease inflammatory cytokines like IL-33 and TNF-α. Triamcinolone acetonide acetate is a synthetic glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties.
