Overview

Qing-Ying Decoction (Qingying Tang) is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula originally described in the *Wen Bing Tiao Bian* (Systematic Differentiation of Warm Diseases). It is traditionally indicated for clearing heat from the nutritive (Ying) level, cooling the blood, and resolving toxicity in febrile conditions. The standard formula typically comprises nine herbal ingredients, including Cornu Bubali, Radix Rehmanniae, and Radix Scrophulariae. Modern clinical research has investigated modified versions of the decoction (mQYD) for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in children, focusing on its ability to modulate the gut microbiome and improve clinical symptoms. Preclinical studies have also demonstrated that modified Xuan-Bi-Qing-Ying Decoction (XBQYD) can alleviate septic liver injury by inhibiting the HIF-1α signaling pathway, thereby enhancing autophagy and suppressing apoptosis.
