Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qingdu Anshen is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily used for the management of chronic renal failure (CRF) and chronic kidney disease (CKD). The formulation is designed to address the accumulation of uremic toxins and the systemic complications of renal dysfunction, such as insomnia and restlessness. It typically contains a combination of herbal extracts, including *Rheum palmatum* (Rhubarb), *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen), *Astragalus membranaceus*, and *Ziziphus jujuba*. Its mechanism of action involves promoting the intestinal and renal excretion of nitrogenous waste products (e.g., creatinine and blood urea nitrogen), improving renal microcirculation, and exerting anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects. By downregulating pro-fibrotic factors like TGF-β1 and inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNF-α, Qingdu Anshen helps to delay the progression of renal fibrosis and improve the overall quality of life for patients with end-stage renal disease.
