Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qingdu powder plaster is a traditional Yi medicine (an ethnic medicine of the Yi people in China) topical formulation developed by the Yunnan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of acute gouty arthritis associated with the 'dampness-heat obstruction' syndrome in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory. The plaster is composed of a mixture of herbal ingredients known for their ability to clear heat, detoxify, and resolve dampness to reduce swelling and pain. In clinical study settings, it has been evaluated as an adjunctive therapy alongside systemic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like diclofenac sodium. The treatment is applied topically to the affected joints to alleviate local inflammation and improve joint function.
