Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qingfei Tongluo Fang (清肺通络方), also known as the Qingfei Tongluo formula or QTF/QT, is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound prescription developed and clinically used primarily for the treatment of Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP), especially in children. It is formulated from multiple herbal ingredients and has demonstrated efficacy in both clinical and experimental models for reducing pulmonary inflammation, cytokine release, oxidative stress, and endoplasmic reticulum stress associated with MPP. Mechanistically, it acts by inhibiting the PERK signaling pathway to alleviate ER stress responses[1], modulating MAPK signaling pathways to regulate inflammatory cytokine overproduction and oxidative imbalance[5], repairing alveolar-capillary barrier function[5], and suppressing TLR4/NF-κB/COX-2-mediated inflammatory cascades[8]. The formula was developed by pediatrics at Shanghai Longhua Hospital. Its main indications are pediatric MPP—especially antibiotic-resistant or recurrent cases—and chronic lung injury during convalescence from pneumonia.
