Overview
Qinggan Jiangya is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by Dongzhimen Hospital of the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of primary hypertension (grades 1-2). It is specifically indicated for patients diagnosed with the TCM syndrome of anger hyperactivity and liver-kidney yin deficiency. As a botanical product, it is typically administered in capsule form. Clinical trials, including randomized, double-blind, multicenter studies, have evaluated its efficacy as a monotherapy and in comparison to other established TCM antihypertensives like Songlingxuemaikang capsules. The formulation is designed to regulate blood pressure by addressing the underlying systemic imbalances defined in TCM theory, such as clearing liver fire and nourishing kidney yin.
