Overview
Qinggan Liangxue Jiedu decoction (QGLXJD) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Beijing Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris, specifically the "blood heat syndrome" pattern. The decoction is designed to "clear liver fire," "cool the blood," and "remove toxins," which are central concepts in TCM for managing acute inflammatory skin conditions. Mechanistically, QGLXJD has been shown to modulate the neuro-endocrine-immune axis by reducing the expression of pro-inflammatory neuropeptides such as Substance P (SP) and Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP), as well as regulating the balance of Th1/Th17 cytokines. It is primarily administered as an oral decoction.
