Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qinghua herbal formula (also known as Jianpi Qinghua granule or JPQH) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospital-prepared formulation developed by Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Derived from the classical 'Bupiwei Xieyinhuo Shengyang Decoction' and pioneered by Professor Cai Gan, the formula is designed to treat metabolic disorders from the perspective of the spleen, integrating actions that benefit spleen qi, clear spleen heat, nourish spleen yin, and clear spleen collaterals. It is primarily used for the treatment of obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, insulin resistance, and metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD/NAFLD). Mechanistically, the formula has been shown to regulate the DNMT-urea cycle axis, boost SIRT1/AMPK signaling, attenuate the NF-κB pathway, and suppress intestinal inflammation via the MAPK pathway.
