Qingjin lavage solution

Qingjin lavage solution is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of COVID-19. It received emergency approval from the Henan Provincial Medical Products Administration during the pandemic to address respiratory symptoms associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection. The formulation is designed to clear heat, detoxify the lungs, and resolve phlegm, specifically targeting the "lung-heat" syndrome common in viral pneumonia. In clinical practice, it has been utilized both as an oral medication and as a lavage fluid for bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) in severe cases to help clear inflammatory secretions and mitigate the cytokine storm. The preparation is officially included in the Henan Province COVID-19 Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol.
