Overview
Qingjin Pingchuan Tang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Children's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, specifically for the treatment of pediatric bronchial asthma. Formulated based on the TCM principles of "clearing the lungs" (Qingjin) and "calming wheezing" (Pingchuan), it is primarily indicated for patients presenting with the phlegm-heat obstructing the lungs syndrome. The preparation aims to alleviate airway inflammation, reduce bronchial hyperresponsiveness, and regulate the immune system by modulating the balance of Th1/Th2 cytokines. Clinical application at the developing institution has demonstrated its efficacy in improving pulmonary function and reducing the frequency of asthma attacks in children during both the acute and remission phases of the disease.
