Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qingre Huayu Jianpi decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula used primarily for the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer and related gastrointestinal disorders. The formulation is based on TCM principles of "heat-clearing," "stasis-dissolving," and "spleen-fortifying." Preclinical studies demonstrate that QHJ inhibits cancer cell proliferation, suppresses activation of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), and reduces extracellular matrix collagen deposition in the tumor microenvironment. Mechanistically, it downregulates β-catenin signaling (Wnt pathway), decreases markers such as Ki67, CD44, α-SMA, COL1A1/3A1, fibronectin (FN), laminin (LN), and upregulates RNF43 while downregulating ZNRF3. These effects collectively inhibit tumor growth by targeting both colon cancer stem cells and CAFs[1][2]. Clinical use in China includes colitis-associated colon cancer as well as sporadic colorectal carcinoma subtypes.
