Overview
Qingre Jiedu Fang No. 2 (QRJDF2) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Longhua Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a specific hospital-made preparation (协定方) designed to clear heat and detoxify according to TCM principles. The formula gained significant attention during the COVID-19 pandemic in Shanghai, where it was utilized in clinical settings to treat patients with mild to moderate viral pneumonia. QRJDF2 is composed of several botanical extracts known for their antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory properties, including *Lonicerae Japonicae Flos* and *Forsythiae Fructus*. Clinical research has focused on its ability to reduce viral load, shorten the duration of symptoms, and prevent the progression of respiratory distress by modulating the host's inflammatory cytokine response.
