Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qingre Lianyin Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Shen Weisheng at Jiangyin People's Hospital. It is primarily used to mitigate the side effects of radiotherapy in patients with head and neck tumors, specifically targeting radiation-induced xerostomia (dry mouth) and oral mucositis. The decoction is formulated based on TCM principles to clear heat (Qingre) and nourish yin (Lianyin/Yangyin), addressing the inflammatory and dehydrating effects of radiation therapy. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to determine its efficacy in improving the quality of life for cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy.
