Qingrehuoxuejiedu topical preparation is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Xiyuan Hospital of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is formulated based on the TCM therapeutic principles of clearing heat (Qingre), activating blood circulation (Huoxue), and removing toxins (Jiedu). The preparation is primarily investigated for the treatment of acute radiodermatitis, a common skin reaction in cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy. In clinical studies, such as the Phase 1 trial registered under ChiCTR-IIR-16009868, it has been evaluated for its efficacy in reducing skin inflammation and promoting the healing of radiation-induced skin injuries compared to other topical treatments like Kangfuxin.
