Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Qingrun Yangmu** is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula developed for the treatment of dry eye syndrome and visual fatigue, particularly in patients presenting with Liver-Kidney Yin Deficiency. Originally formulated as an oral liquid hospital preparation by the Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it has been co-developed into a Class 1.1 TCM innovative granule formulation (Qingrun Yangmu Granules) by Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Group Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Institute. The herbal composition consists of seven key ingredients: *Dendrobium* (石斛), *Cordyceps cicadae* (金蝉花), *Ophiopogon japonicus* (麦冬), *Adenophora tetraphylla* (南沙参), *Lycium barbarum* (枸杞), *Albizia julibrissin* flower buds (合欢米), and *Buddleja officinalis* (密蒙花). These components work synergistically to nourish Yin, moisten the ocular surface, clear heat, and improve tear film stability. In July 2026, the Chinese National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) approved the clinical trial application (IND) for Qingrun Yangmu Granules to initiate clinical trials for dry eye.
