Overview
Qingshu-Yiqi-Tang is an Astragalus-based traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula being developed by Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. It is currently being evaluated as an adjunct therapy for patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who are receiving standard first-line doublet chemotherapy (such as cisplatin plus docetaxel or pemetrexed) and second-line targeted therapy (erlotinib). The formula is designed to modulate the immune system and reverse the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Its primary mechanism involves targeting myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) and regulatory T cells to prevent cytotoxic T cell apoptosis and restore anti-tumor immune functions, including natural killer (NK) cell activity and Th1 cell responses.
