Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qingwei Zhitong pellets is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation used in the treatment of gastric disorders, particularly those associated with "stomach heat" and pain in TCM theory. It is currently being investigated in Phase 4 clinical trials in China as a substitute for bismuth in a quadruple therapy regimen for the eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* infection. The regimen typically includes a proton pump inhibitor (such as rabeprazole) and two antibiotics (such as amoxicillin and clarithromycin). The pellets are intended to improve the efficacy of *H. pylori* eradication while potentially reducing the adverse effects often associated with traditional bismuth-based quadruple therapies.
