Overview
Qingxia Huayu Fang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula composed of several herbal constituents, including red vine, Bupleurum, Corydalis, Salvia, red peony, Jiaoshan Gardenia, and raw rhubarb. It has demonstrated therapeutic effects in both clinical trials and animal studies for acute pancreatitis (AP) and its associated symptoms. The formula is believed to alleviate severe acute pancreatitis-associated intestinal injury by modulating Group 3 Innate Lymphoid Cells (ILCs) and improving intestinal barrier function, potentially mediated through the p38MAPK/ATF2 signaling pathway. In TCM theory, its effects include promoting defecation, clearing heat, regulating qi dynamics, and enhancing blood circulation. Clinical studies suggest it facilitates the recovery of gastrointestinal function in AP patients and shortens hospital stays.
