Overview

Qingxie Fuzheng (QFG) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation investigated for its therapeutic potential in cancer and cancer-associated cachexia. In preclinical models of colon adenocarcinoma-induced cachexia, QFG has been shown to ameliorate muscle wasting and systemic inflammation by modulating the gut microbiota, restoring intestinal barrier integrity, and suppressing the IL-6/NF-κB signaling pathway. Additionally, in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) models, QFG exhibits anti-tumor activity by inducing apoptosis through both the death receptor (Fas/FasL) and mitochondrion-dependent (Bax/Bcl-2) pathways, leading to the activation of the caspase cascade (caspase-3, -8, and -9).
