Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qingxin Jieyu Formula is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) preparation developed by Xiyuan Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, including acute coronary syndrome, stable coronary heart disease, and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. The formula, often administered as granules or a decoction, is categorized under the Yiqi Huoxue Jiedu (replenishing qi, activating blood, and detoxifying) therapeutic principle. Mechanistically, it has been shown to alleviate atherosclerosis by regulating lipid metabolism and modulating the PPAR and NF-κB signaling pathways. Specifically, it reduces levels of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) and lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1 (LOX-1), activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) and retinoid X receptor alpha (RXRα), and inhibits the phosphorylation of p65 to downregulate inflammatory markers such as VCAM-1 and ICAM-1.
