Overview
Qingyi Jiangzhi Decoction (QYD) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula composed of eight herbs: Rheum officinale (da-huang), Bupleurum chinense (chai-hu), Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi (huang-qin), Paeonia lactiflora Pall. (bai-shao), Aucklandia costus Falc. (mu-xiang), Corydalis yanhusuo (yan-hu-suo), Gardenia jasminoides J. Ellis (zhi-zi), and Natrii Sulfas (mang-xiao)[2][4]. It is primarily used in the treatment of acute pancreatitis and related inflammatory conditions[3][5]. The decoction exerts anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, immune regulatory effects, promotes intestinal barrier recovery, and induces apoptosis in target cells[2][4]. Mechanistically, QYD acts by inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation in macrophages and regulating the MyD88/NF-κB/NLRP3/caspase-1 signaling pathway to reduce systemic inflammation during acute pancreatitis[2][3][5]. Its multi-component nature allows for multitargeted intervention across several biological pathways relevant to inflammation and organ protection.
