Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qingying oral liquid + modified Da Huang-Huang Lian Xiexin mouthwash is a combination of two traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulations being evaluated by West China Hospital for the treatment and prevention of radiation-induced oral mucositis (RIOM) in patients with head and neck malignancies. Qingying oral liquid is based on the classical Qingying Tang formula, which is traditionally used to clear heat from the nutrient level and detoxify. The modified Da Huang-Huang Lian Xiexin mouthwash is a topical herbal preparation intended to reduce local inflammation and protect the oral mucosa. Together, these interventions aim to mitigate the severity of mucosal damage, alleviate oral pain, and improve clinical outcomes for patients undergoing radical radiotherapy by modulating inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress pathways.
