Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qingzhihuayu is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by Shuguang Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, specifically for the treatment of coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CAD) and hyperlipidemia. The formula is designed to address the TCM syndromes of phlegm-dampness and blood stasis, which are central to the development of atherosclerosis. Pharmacologically, Qingzhihuayu has been shown to regulate lipid profiles, reduce systemic inflammation by lowering levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) and other pro-inflammatory cytokines, and improve vascular endothelial function. Clinical and preclinical studies have focused on its ability to stabilize vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques and prevent the progression of coronary artery disease by modulating signaling pathways such as NF-kappaB.
