Overview
Qinhuai Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Jilin Tianheng Pharmaceutical for the treatment of hyperuricemia and gout. The capsule is derived from botanical extracts, primarily *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin) and *Sophora japonica* (Huaihua). It functions by lowering serum uric acid levels through the inhibition of xanthine oxidase, the enzyme responsible for uric acid production, and by enhancing renal uric acid excretion through the modulation of urate transporters. It has undergone standardized clinical evaluation in China, progressing to Phase III clinical trials to establish its efficacy and safety profile compared to standard urate-lowering therapies.
