Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qinpi Tongfeng Formula (QPTFF) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound prescription derived from Sheng Ji Zong Lu (1117 AD), used in modern clinical practice primarily for the treatment of acute gouty arthritis. It is a multi-herb formula designed to "eliminate heat and purify toxins," "dehumidify turbidity," alleviate arthralgia, and relieve pain. Clinical studies have shown that QPTFF can effectively reduce joint inflammation, pain scores, serum uric acid levels, and inflammatory markers such as IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, CXCL8 (IL-8), MMP9 via modulation of the IL-17A/NF-κB p65 signaling pathway. Its efficacy in treating acute gouty arthritis has been found to be comparable to diclofenac sodium with fewer adverse events[1][4][5][6].
