Overview
Qinsu (also known as Qinsu Oral Liquid) is a Chinese patent medicine developed by Shanghai Green Valley Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. specifically for the treatment of post-infectious cough (PIC), commonly referred to as post-cold cough. Formulated as an oral liquid, it is derived from traditional Chinese herbal medicine principles to address lingering respiratory symptoms that persist after the resolution of an acute viral or bacterial infection. The drug is designed to alleviate persistent coughing by reducing airway inflammation and mitigating airway hyperresponsiveness. Clinical development has focused on its efficacy in patients exhibiting the "wind-heat transforming into dryness" pattern of PIC, where it has been evaluated in Phase III clinical trials in China to assess its ability to reduce cough frequency and severity.
