Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Qinsu capsule** is an oral traditional Chinese medicine multi-herb preparation developed by Shanghai Green Valley Pharmaceutical for post-common-cold cough associated with the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome of pulmonary-meridian stasis-heat. It is derived from the Qinsu powder formula and contains processed botanical materials including Scutellaria baicalensis root, Perilla fruit, Perilla stem, Sophora flavescens root, and Salvia miltiorrhiza root. Its pharmacologically validated molecular target and mechanism have not been publicly established; it is being clinically evaluated as a complex herbal mixture rather than as a defined single-molecule therapeutic. A multicenter randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase II trial in China evaluated the capsule for post-common-cold cough.
