Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qinzhu Liangxue is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula composed of 10 herbal and mineral ingredients. It is primarily used for the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis vulgaris and atopic dermatitis. The main active components include baicalin and glycyrrhizic acid, which possess anti-inflammatory properties. Mechanistically, it acts by modulating immune responses—specifically inhibiting IL-6-induced hyperproliferation and inflammation in keratinocytes via regulation of the METTL14/SOCS3/STAT3 axis in psoriasis models[1][2]. In atopic dermatitis models and clinical studies, it upregulates glucocorticoid receptor alpha (GRα), reduces inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8), IgE levels, and improves skin barrier function[4][7]. Clinical trials have shown that it significantly improves disease severity scores (PASI for psoriasis; SCORAD/EASI for eczema/AD) with a favorable safety profile[2][5][9].
