Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qirong Fuzheng Mixture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed as an immunomodulatory therapy, particularly for patients with HIV/AIDS. The formulation typically contains extracts from *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi) and *Cistanche deserticola* (Roucongrong), which are traditionally used to tonify "Qi" and "Yang" to strengthen the body's resistance (Fuzheng). In clinical settings, it is administered as an adjuvant to antiretroviral therapy (ART) to promote immune reconstitution, increase CD4+ T-lymphocyte counts, and improve the quality of life by reducing symptoms such as fatigue. The drug is currently being investigated in clinical trials sponsored by The Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen.
