Overview

Qishen Yiqi Dripping Pills (QSYQ) is a standardized Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Tasly Pharmaceutical Group for the treatment of cardiovascular and renal disorders. The product is composed of extracts from four primary botanical sources: *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi), *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen), *Panax notoginseng* (Sanqi), and *Dalbergia odorifera* (Jiangxiang). It is specifically indicated for patients exhibiting 'Qi deficiency and blood stasis' syndrome, a classification in TCM that correlates with chronic heart failure, coronary heart disease, and diabetic nephropathy. Mechanistically, QSYQ is reported to improve myocardial energy metabolism, inhibit ventricular remodeling, and exert anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects by modulating pathways such as TGF-beta/Smad and NF-kappaB. The drug is widely used in China for stable angina and heart failure and is undergoing further clinical evaluation for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and diabetic kidney disease.
