Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qiwei Tangmaishu Capsules is a Chinese patent medicine (CPM) developed and manufactured by Kunming Longjin Pharmaceutical. It is an oral botanical drug primarily indicated for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus, specifically for patients presenting with Qi and Yin deficiency syndromes. The formulation is designed to lower blood glucose levels, alleviate symptoms such as polydipsia (excessive thirst), polyuria, and fatigue, and potentially address diabetic vascular complications. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory, the product functions to supplement Qi, nourish Yin, clear heat, and promote the production of body fluids. The 'Qiwei' (seven flavors) in its name refers to its seven primary herbal ingredients: Astragalus membranaceus, Rehmannia glutinosa, Pueraria lobata, Ophiopogon japonicus, Schisandra chinensis, Salvia miltiorrhiza, and Poria cocos.
