Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qizhi Tongluo Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Hebei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of primary membranous nephropathy (PMN). The formulation is based on the therapeutic principle of replenishing Qi and dredging collaterals (益气通络), utilizing key ingredients such as *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi) and *Hirudo nipponica* (Shuizhi). In clinical practice, it is often used as an adjuvant therapy to standard immunosuppressive regimens to reduce proteinuria, lower anti-PLA2R antibody titers, and protect podocytes from immunological injury. As a hospital preparation in China, it has demonstrated efficacy in improving renal function and modulating the immune microenvironment in patients with nephrotic syndrome.
