Overview
Qizhu Feixian Decoction (QZFXD) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Guang'anmen Hospital, affiliated with the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The formula is based on TCM principles of tonifying Qi, strengthening the spleen, and resolving blood stasis and phlegm to treat 'lung atrophy.' Clinical research, including the trial ChiCTR2200058641, evaluates its efficacy in improving lung function (FVC, DLCO), exercise capacity (6MWD), and quality of life in patients with IPF. Pharmacological studies suggest it may inhibit the TGF-beta1/Smad signaling pathway, which is a key driver of pulmonary fibrosis.
