QL-926 is a small molecule local anesthetic belonging to the amide class, currently under development by BioQingLam. It is designed for anesthesia and utilizes a proprietary transdermal delivery system consisting of a soluble microneedle patch. This technology allows for the delivery of the anesthetic through the skin's barrier via dissolving microneedles, potentially offering a less invasive alternative to traditional needle injections. As an amide-type anesthetic, QL-926 is expected to work by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels, thereby inhibiting the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses to provide localized pain relief. The candidate is currently in the Investigator-Initiated Trial (IIT) stage of development.
