Drug intelligence / Profile preview
QL1005 is an engineered, long-acting dual agonist recombinant fusion protein designed to target both the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor and the growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) receptor (glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor family receptor alpha-like, or GFRAL). Developed by Beijing QL Biopharmaceutical, QL1005 is constructed by fusing GLP-1 and GDF15 analogs via a peptide linker, which is further conjugated to a fatty acid to extend its pharmacokinetic half-life. In preclinical models of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), QL1005 has demonstrated significant, dose-dependent reductions in body weight, food intake, fasting glucose, and circulating lipids, showing superior efficacy compared to single-target benchmarks such as semaglutide.
