Drug intelligence / Profile preview
QL1101 is a biosimilar of bevacizumab developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical. It is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby blocking angiogenesis—the formation of new blood vessels—which is critical for tumor growth and metastasis. The drug has demonstrated pharmacokinetic equivalence, efficacy, and safety comparable to the reference product Avastin (bevacizumab) in clinical trials involving patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and metastatic colorectal cancer. QL1101 was approved in China in December 2019 under the brand name Ankeda/Ankada for advanced or metastatic NSCLC and metastatic colorectal cancer[1][3][4][5][6].
