Overview

QL1205 is a biosimilar to ranibizumab, developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical. It is a recombinant, humanized monoclonal antibody fragment (Fab) that binds to and inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby suppressing abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage in the eye. The drug is indicated for the treatment of neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). Clinical trials have demonstrated that QL1205 has equivalent efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics, and immunogenicity compared to reference ranibizumab (Lucentis), supporting its use as a cost-effective alternative for anti-VEGF therapy in ophthalmology[1][2][4].
