Drug intelligence / Profile preview
QL1207 is a biosimilar to aflibercept, developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical for the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) and diabetic macular edema (DME). It is administered as an intravitreal injection. QL1207 acts as an inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) and placenta growth factor, thereby reducing abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage in the retina. Clinical trials have demonstrated that QL1207 has equivalent efficacy, safety, immunogenicity, and pharmacokinetic profiles compared to reference aflibercept in patients with nAMD. It represents the first approved aflibercept biosimilar in China[1][2][4][5][6][7].
