Drug intelligence / Profile preview
QL1701 is a biosimilar to trastuzumab (Herceptin), a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2/ERBB2). It is developed for the treatment of HER2-positive cancers, primarily metastatic breast cancer and gastric cancer. Clinical trials have demonstrated that QL1701 has equivalent efficacy and similar safety, pharmacokinetic, and immunogenicity profiles compared to reference trastuzumab when used in combination with docetaxel as first-line therapy for HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer[1][3][4]. The mechanism of action involves binding to HER2 on tumor cells, leading to inhibition of downstream signaling pathways and induction of antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC)[4][5].
