This combination therapy consists of QL1706 (iparomlimab and tuvonralimab), albumin-bound paclitaxel, and lenvatinib. QL1706, developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical using the MabPair platform, is a bifunctional antibody product that simultaneously targets the PD-1 and CTLA-4 immune checkpoints to enhance anti-tumor T-cell activity. Albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-paclitaxel) is a nanoparticle formulation of the chemotherapy agent paclitaxel that inhibits microtubule dynamics, leading to cell cycle arrest. Lenvatinib is an oral multi-target tyrosine kinase inhibitor that blocks VEGFR1-3, FGFR1-4, PDGFRα, KIT, and RET, thereby inhibiting angiogenesis and tumor cell proliferation. This triplet regimen is being investigated by Sun Yat-sen University as a second-line treatment for patients with unresectable or metastatic biliary tract cancer, particularly those who have progressed on prior immunotherapy and chemotherapy.
