QL2111 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical for the preventive treatment of migraine. It specifically targets calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), a neuropeptide that plays a central role in the pathophysiology of migraine by mediating vasodilation and pain transmission within the trigeminal system. By binding to the CGRP ligand, QL2111 prevents it from interacting with its receptor, thereby inhibiting the neurogenic inflammation and sensitization associated with migraine attacks. The drug is administered via subcutaneous injection and is currently undergoing Phase 2 clinical evaluation in China to assess its efficacy and safety in reducing the frequency of migraine episodes.
