Overview

QLM2010 is a biosimilar of pertuzumab, a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical. It specifically targets the extracellular dimerization domain (Subdomain II) of the Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2). By binding to this specific region, QLM2010 sterically hinders the heterodimerization of HER2 with other members of the HER family, most notably HER3. This blockade inhibits downstream oncogenic signaling pathways, including the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) pathways, which are essential for the proliferation and survival of HER2-overexpressing malignant cells. QLM2010 is approved in China for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer, providing a therapeutic alternative to the reference product, Perjeta, in both neoadjuvant and metastatic settings.
