QLS1510 is an orally administered small molecule inhibitor of Tyrosine Kinase 2 (TYK2) being developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical. TYK2 is a member of the Janus kinase (JAK) family that plays a critical role in the signaling pathways of cytokines such as interleukin-12 (IL-12), interleukin-23 (IL-23), and Type I interferons (IFN), which are central to the inflammatory response in autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. By selectively targeting TYK2, QLS1510 aims to provide therapeutic benefit in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, while potentially minimizing the off-target effects associated with non-selective JAK inhibitors. The drug is currently in Phase I clinical development, with studies evaluating its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers and patients.
