QLS21908 is an investigational, long-acting triple receptor agonist targeting the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), and glucagon (GCG) receptors. Developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical, it is designed for the treatment of metabolic disorders, including obesity and type 2 diabetes. By simultaneously activating these three pathways, QLS21908 aims to achieve superior weight loss and glycemic control compared to mono- or dual-agonists. The GLP-1 and GIP components enhance insulin secretion and suppress appetite, while the glucagon component increases energy expenditure and improves hepatic glucose metabolism. It is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation in healthy volunteers to assess safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics.
