QLS2319 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical for the treatment of cancer cachexia. It functions by targeting and neutralizing Growth Differentiation Factor 15 (GDF15), a stress-induced cytokine that is often elevated in patients with advanced cancer. GDF15 acts on the GFRAL receptor in the hindbrain to suppress appetite and promote weight loss. By blocking the GDF15 signaling pathway, QLS2319 aims to reverse anorexia and muscle wasting, thereby improving the nutritional status and quality of life for cancer patients. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy in both healthy volunteers and patients with cancer cachexia.
