QMV-24KRP is an investigational recombinant Hepatitis B vaccine delivered transdermally via a microneedle array patch (MAP). Developed by QuadMedicine, this formulation utilizes purified Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) embedded in a dissolvable microneedle platform. The MAP technology is designed to deliver the antigen into the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin, where a high density of antigen-presenting cells exists, potentially enhancing the immune response compared to traditional intramuscular injections. A primary clinical advantage of this modality is its potential for improved stability at ambient temperatures, which could eliminate the need for strict cold chain logistics and simplify vaccine distribution in low-resource settings. QMV-24KRP is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for safety, tolerability, and its ability to induce seroprotective levels of anti-HBs antibodies.
