Overview

QN-023a is an allogeneic, off-the-shelf chimeric antigen receptor natural killer (CAR-NK) cell therapy engineered to target CD33, a surface antigen commonly expressed on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells. Developed from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC), QN-023a is designed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory AML. The therapy demonstrates potent anti-tumor activity against various AML cell lines and primary patient-derived AML blasts, regardless of NKG2D ligand expression levels. In preclinical studies and early clinical trials, QN-023a has shown superior antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), especially when combined with daratumumab, compared to unmodified iPSC-derived NK cells. The product can be mass-produced under cGMP conditions and exhibits a phenotype comparable to healthy donor NK cells[1][2][7]. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in patients with relapsed/refractory AML[3][4][5].
