Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**QPCF-NPs** are an experimental, folic acid-chitosan-coated poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticle formulation encapsulating **quercetin**. The formulation was designed to provide sustained quercetin release and improve tumor-directed delivery for hepatocellular carcinoma. In reported HepG2-cell and carcinogen-induced rat hepatocellular carcinoma studies, subcutaneously administered QPCF-NPs showed greater cytotoxicity and antitumor-associated biochemical, oxidative-stress, inflammatory, and caspase-3 changes than unformulated quercetin. This is a preclinical academic nanomedicine formulation and is not an approved medicine.
