Overview

QR056240 is a selective small molecule inhibitor of Rho-associated protein kinase 2 (ROCK2) currently under development by Createrna Development for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). ROCK2 is a key mediator in the pro-fibrotic signaling pathway, and its inhibition is thought to reduce the activation of myofibroblasts and the production of extracellular matrix components. By achieving high selectivity for the ROCK2 isoform over ROCK1, QR056240 is designed to minimize the risk of systemic hypotension, a common side effect of non-selective ROCK inhibition. The drug is currently in the IND-enabling stage, progressing toward clinical trials for pulmonary and potentially other fibrotic diseases.
